Beyond European performance targets

+

In the FABEC performance plan setting out the targets for contributing to performance at European level, the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS) is assessed by a permanent audit with five key targets: safety policy and objectives, safety risk management, safety assurance, safety promotion and safety culture. These targets are divided into sub-areas and grouped under the EoSM-indicator [Effectiveness of Safety Management].

skeyes’ CSMU (Corporate Safety Management Unit) worked in 2025 to achieve six targets in the different key areas in line with the FABEC safety targets.

In the area of safety policy and objectives, the CSMU has further strengthened and clarified skeyes’ safety policy, a document accessible to the entire company and which must guide the actions and decisions of all staff at all levels.

Share to improve

Sharing information, disseminating knowledge, experiences and good practices are the very essence of safety. Without this sharing, there is no possible improvement.

Since its creation, the Safety Management Unit has set up forums to share the results of its analyses with its customers and stakeholders: airlines, aviation clubs, schools, the Belgian Armed Forces, Belgian civil aviation authorities (BCAA & BSA), foreign ANSPs and EUROCONTROL.
